Lighting the Way
On March 13, 1889, Avista, formerly known as Washington Water Power, was incorporated eight months before Washington Territory became a state. Today, the company is one of only three companies remaining in the state that are classified as Territorial Corporations -- incorporated before Washington's statehood.
With the history of Avista so interwoven with the history of the Inland Northwest, KSPS is producing a series of video vignettes now available to parents, students and teachers. We will maintain this web site for years to come so that it can continue to be a helpful resource for our communities. Watch for more vignettes coming in 2014 and 2015.
